Dear Colleagues,

 

We are pleased to announce the 3rd ASEAN Sago Symposium (ASAS) 2016, which will be held in Kuching, Sarawak from 25 to 26 October 2016.

 

A bit of statement about Sarawak as tourist destination ;-)

 

This Symposium is a meeting point and discussion of experts and stakeholders including academics, scientists, researchers and students of higher education institutions, as well as members of public in sago related field. Participation at international level is also expected to come from the region of ASEAN countries based on participation during the first (2009) and second (2012) Symposium.

 

The organization of this symposium include a mechanism for the delivery and dissemination of knowledge and information and network associated with the development and progress in the field of research and downstream industries sago starch. In addition, the collection of local experts from the ASEAN Regional enable researchers, particularly from Unimas, to create a research network with international researchers. This is in line with the noble intention of the government to turn Malaysia into a knowledge-based and highly skilled nation.

 

Information regarding the scientific programme, important dates, registration, accommodation, is available on the symposium website (http://3rdasas2016.wix.com/home) which will be regularly updated.

 

Abstract submission will be possible from Monday 7th March 2016 via symposium email (3rdasas2016@gmail.com).

 

Proceedings will be published shortly after the conference on the symposium website (http://www.coesar.unimas.my).

 

Hotel list will be published soon, with reservation arranged by participants, before Sunday 31st July 2016 in order to benefit from specially negotiated room prices.
